Maybe a ‘Shame Campaign’ should be launched against the speculators & the like who are sitting on dormant prime property. Inundate the local papers with Op/Ed articles putting those intities under the microscope. Unravel the webs of greed, deceit and corruption!! We need a nationally recognized person who hails from this city to offer their notoriety as a means to bring attention to the potential this area offers. SHAME CAMPAIGN!!!!

I too spent a day playing tourist this weekend with some friends from the great white north. I honestly go the the Falls all the time. We had to walk past One Niagara and their parking lot attendants. They were loud, RUDE, and nasty. They wave their flags as if there is a road block ahead and the driver has to turn. They then whistle and point and yell at the cars to get them into their lots. It doesn’t help that their “uniform” looks like a national park uniform (and honestly most people don’t realize that the Falls is a State Park).
We need to have a vision, a plan in place and need to see it through. We can not allow these vacant buildings, the weed covered areas to continue. BUT we need more than thoughts and plans, we need HELP! We need the city to pull together! We have a natural wonder of the world and we need the state of NY and the federal government to work with us to ensure that this is not an area best forgotten, but remembered, cherished and visited again
