Niagara 4 U

Niagara Rises in conjunction with community leaders and local businesses have developed the Niagara 4U Tour to “welcome” incoming and transfer Niagara University students to the community.  The vision of this program that Niagara students be embraced by their new home while the hope is after their education is completed they may consider permanent residency or establishing a future business in the Niagara region.

On Saturday, September 18th, our first annual Niagara 4U Tour will take place.   Starting with a “Welcome Breakfast” at the NYS Power Authority where local leaders, including the mayors of Niagara Falls and Lewiston, will speak to and welcome more than 300 students.  The students will then board buses and take a tour of Lewiston, Town of Niagara and Niagara Falls, stopping periodically at different locations and business districts to learn about the areas and what they have to offer NU students.  The tour will proceed to the State Parks area to see local attractions and will conclude with a late lunch at the Rapids Theater.  Lunch will be a mini “Taste of Niagara” with the owners of local restaurants bringing samples of specialties and interacting with students.  We will be also giving out prizes to the students as well as a gift bag as they leave.

We are asking for your participating as Sponsor to help make this event a resounding success.  We would greatly appreciate any financial or in-kind support that you may be able to offer.  The following Sponsorship levels have been identified

  • Premier:        $1,000 (cash or in-kind)
  • Presenting:    $  350 (cash or in-kind)
  • Patron:           $  100 (cash or in-kind)

We are looking to local restaurants to not only provide samplings of their food at the Rapids Theatre but be at the afternoon event to interact with the students.  Bring your menus or special coupons for the students.    We believe that by taking part in this event between the hours of 1pm-4pm that will create a lasting impression on these Niagara University students.

Your generous sponsorship will be printed on the backs of event T-shirts and highlighted during introductions at both event locations as well as in local newspaper, Niagara Rises website and university articles.  Sponsors will also be allowed to provide items for the gift bags for the students.

The most important benefit of sponsorship will be the opportunity to access a group of young people that are part of a historic number of students attending college this fall, who will bring with them to campus an unprecedented $306 billion in projected spending power.  A recent Harris Interactive Poll found that the average college student spends $361 per month in their local community.

Carol Coletta, a national expert on urban issues and former Executive Director of the Mayors’ Institute on City Design, stated that increasing college attainment by just one per cent translates into a $900 million per year benefit.  And, those cities that can attract the greatest number of people with the most talent will be the ones that win.  We want our city to be the city that these students select to call home.

Printing limitations require our sponsor cut-off date to make the t-shirt will be September 2nd at the “Still Fallin’ for the Falls” Happy Hour at Legends Bar & Grill.  To make the gift bag you will need to make arrangements with us by September 12.  Your donations are tax deductible and may be made payable to Niagara Rises Inc. and mailed to:
