We are so excited about our second annual Orchard Parkway Garden Walk coming up this Saturday, July 11th. It seems like our gardens have matured as we have developed more freedom with our landscape expressions. We have added two large “island” gardens to greet our friends as they enjoy their leisure stroll. As for our landscaping, many of the neighbors have found a larger variety if perennials to make a statement.
One landscape bed has soft pink accenting many greens of many textures and sizes. Another neighbor has brought a greater focus to their and their neighbors landscapes as a result of simply changing the color of their house from a burgundy to a gray.
My husband and I have had fun finding more plants with names that are in the bible, such as, Jacobs Ladder, Burning Bush, Rose of Sharon, The David Phlox, Lily of the Valley, Yellow Archangel, which all accent our garden-scape “Cross Light”.
We are looking forward to making the finishing touches so our friends throughout western NY can come and enjoy.
