Tuesday November 18th Meeting Notes
Hi Everyone,
We had maybe our best meeting ever on Tuesday. First, the Buffalo News was on hand to take pictures for a column featuring Colleen about Twitter and social networking sites. We’ll send out a link once the piece is published.
Next we detailed the many developments of the ever-growing Niagara Homecoming event. Among the new announcements was that Karolyn Gruszewski has offered her immense talents in PR to the group and the event. She will be doing Press Kits and Press Releases, as well as furthering our online social networking presence.
I announced that I had a great meeting with Cal Kern of the Niagara power and that we look to be set for a baseball game on the Saturday evening of the event. We hope to add fireworks and a musical act as well.
April announced that she has contacted many local hotels to get specail rates for returning denizens.
We broke into subgroups and worked on various isuues. Mike Rizzo reported that the tour group is moving forward. Georgia from the Summit offered her venue as a central start point for all tours.
Debora suggested that we have a booth set up at the job fair to cater to people who might want to move back to Niagara to start up a small business.
Marti talked to everyone about the state of Buffalo Homecoming and how well our group is progressing.
Colleen tutored quite a few people on blogging and twittering.
We will be having the formal press announcement for Niagara Homecoming this Tuesday – tentatively at 10 AM at Terrapin Point. I’ll notify everyone as soon as it’s set in stone. Please come out for it if you can.
Marti, Collen and I had a great meeting with a potential major sponsor – more info to follow.
Geri and I met with Angela and others from the State Park. We brought up the questions that the hard-working Sunrise Service group had and we’re very pleased with the meeting. The Park folks are very excited about the event and are going to make great partners.
We had our first 50/50 split, which netted $51.00 for the group. Marti was the big winner – Congrats!
